Rethinking Wireless

AirPods are on the top of my boy’s Christmas list but after researching the pros and cons I’m wondering if I should rethink wireless.

Apple released their wireless AirPods in 2017 and sold over 368 million!

55 million AirPods are predicted to be bought this year and sales statistic is estimated to double by 2021. That’s not even including the knockoff brands.

Consumers are loving the convince of wireless headphones; however, many consumers hesitant to use wireless headphones for more than a short workout, phone call, or even purchase them at all.

Let’s break it down why: ➜ Bluetooth is a form of Radio Frequency (RF) radiation through the air over short distances. ➜ Most wireless Bluetooth headphones are “Class 2”, which can emit energy up to 33 feet. ➜ It was once thought that cellular signals are too low to affect the body, but now we know that the body does react to these electromagnetic waves, and that it cannot tell the difference between the levels of cellular versus Bluetooth radiation. ➜ Additionally, AirPods are designed to be placed directly in the ear for long periods of time. The placement of the AirPods expose your head to constant wireless Electromagnetic Field (EMF) radiation which heat up cells in your body and causes other biological effect on cells. In 2019, more than 250 scientists signed a petition calling for the International Public Health Organization to create stronger guidelines on wireless devices. In this petition, scientists cite various studies showing the following negative health effects of EMF radiation:

  • Increased Cancer Risk

  • Genetic Damage

  • Neurological Disorders

  • Learning Deficits

Dr. Andrew Goldsworthy, a retired lecturer from the Imperial College of London, one of the top three UK universities after Oxford and Cambridge, documented the following:

DNA damage Short wavelengths, as well as the rapid rise and fall times of the pulses emitted by Bluetooth and cell phones, can damage human cells by throwing off calcium ion signaling and causing ion channels to leak. This cellular disruption can cause irreparable DNA damage, which increases cancer risk. With this exposure close to the head, the bloo

d-brain barrier thins and weakens, causing neuronal damage. In addition to the concerns of DNA damage, and Cancer, there are many additional health concerns related to EMF exposure to the head.

ADHD EMF radiation is said to generate inward Calcium leakage in the brain’s neurons. This leakage stimulates hyperactivity, making one less capable of concentrating on tasks, thus resulting in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Children are thought to be especially at risk, as the

Early Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease The inward leakage of Calcium ions from EMFs also opens the junction barriers in our bodies. Normally, these barriers protect the body from allergens in the environment an

d prevent toxic materials in the bloodstream from entering sensitive parts of the body such as the brain. However, the opening of these barriers has been shown to cause the death of neurons, resulting in early Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Tinnitus Tinnitus is the perception of noise or ringing in the ears, and it affects 15 to 20% of people. Tinnitus is actually a symptom, not a condition, of an underlying condition such as ear injury or a Circulatory system disorder. Bluetooth headphones have been linked to the development of Tinnitus. Safer Ways to Listen:

  • Traditional Wired Headphones are considerably less intense and more controlled.

  • Air Tube Headphones will fully eliminate the EMF radiation traveling into your ear and head from headphones.

  • Be mindful and aware. Use precautionary principles with proximity and usage. Use EMF radiation shields for your cell phone, tablet, and laptop.
